So, you see a bird, want to do some research, but don't know what it is? This article will show you how to recognise these beautiful creatures and you will become an expert.
Get out your binoculars, digital camera and start photographing what you see. Be quick! Some birds just go past like a rocket.
Look at your pictures, If all of the birds look like garden birds, google garden birds and look through pictures and try and memorise them maybe write a poem to help you remember their appearance, diet, habitat.etc.
Once you think you know enough, you could ask a real bird expert to test you, just to see if you did enough research.
If you succeed, maybe you and a friend could go birdwatching and share your knowledge. Don't blab on too much about it.
Read as many books possible, and keep all the info in a safe place in your head, where info about a sleepover today wont be able to fit in.
If you think your now a real expert you could take people on tours around the countryside and give them interesting facts too.
Tips
- You could give a tour for charity and donate all the money to the RSPCA (Australia); SPCA (Canada) or other animal charities in your country.
Warnings
- Don't scare the bird or tease it.
- If you see someone trying to shoot a bird, tell someone, it can be sorted out. Many birds are endangered and laws protect them.
